Itinerary
Departure: 3:30 - 4:00 am · Total duration: about 16 hours · Meeting point: hotel pick-up in the historic centre of Cusco.

Day 1 Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Machu Picchu - Cusco
3:30 - 5:30 am: pick-up at your hotel. At dawn we cross part of the Sacred Valley by tourist transport, heading for Ollantaytambo station.
6:00 - 7:40 am approx.: tourist train to Aguas Calientes. A comfortable journey with panoramic windows and views over the Urubamba river, farmland and lush mountains.
8:00 - 8:30 am: our local team meets you at the station and takes you to the tourist bus, which climbs a scenic mountain road to the citadel entrance (25 to 30 minutes).
8:45 - 11:15 am approx.: entry and guided tour of Machu Picchu on the assigned circuit (1, 2, 3 or 4 subject to availability). For 2 to 2.5 hours your guide shows you the Guardian's House viewpoint, the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Sacred Square, the agricultural terraces, the urban zone and the Intihuatana or Sacred Rock depending on the route.
12:00 - 2:30 pm: bus back down and free time in Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included), to browse the craft market or relax by the river.
2:30 - 4:10 pm (or subject to availability): return train to Ollantaytambo.
4:30 - 7:00 pm approx.: return transfer to Cusco. Your day ends around 6:30-7:30 pm at your hotel or a central location.
