Itinerary

Departure: 4:00 am · Total duration: about 12 hours · Meeting point: pick-up at your hotel in the historic centre of Cusco.

  1. Day 1 Cusco - Mollepata - Soraypampa - Humantay lake - Cusco

4:00 - 4:30 am: pick-up at your accommodation in the city centre or at the agreed meeting point. The drive to the Mollepata area takes about 3 hours.

Breakfast in Mollepata: a nutritious Andean breakfast at a local restaurant, with hot drinks, fruit, bread and traditional dishes.

Arrival at Soraypampa (3,900 m). This open valley, surrounded by the imposing Salkantay and Humantay peaks, marks the start of the trek.

A 1.5 to 2-hour hike with a steady climb. Because of the altitude and gradient, this section is moderate to difficult. The group moves at its own pace, with guided pauses and continuous support.

Arrival at Humantay lake (4,200 m): sparkling turquoise water nestled beneath snow-capped peaks, in deep silence. Free time to take photos, rest or meditate in this sacred Inca place.

Descent to Soraypampa, easier, with sweeping views over the valley and surrounding glaciers, then a buffet lunch in Mollepata.

Return to Cusco by tourist transport, arriving between 5:00 and 5:30 pm at your hotel or a central location.
